Christmas at Sauble

Picture

Welcome!

We're so glad you've clicked through to explore all that we have prepared for this wonderful season!  All are welcome to Come Behold the Glorious... but what does that mean?

Simply this, Jesus, the Saviour, has come to make it possible for us to connect directly with God!  By being born that day over 2000 years ago Jesus takes on humanity... he puts on full display the loving heart of God and becomes our rescuer.  So we celebrate hope, peace, love and joy as we Come Behold the Glorious!

Below you'll find details on all the various gatherings happening this season.  We'd love to have you join with us and discover a new depth to Christmas this year!

Advent and Christmas Gatherings

Picture
The theme for this year's Christmas celebration is
"Come Behold The Glorious"

This phrase is discovered in the lyrics of the song "Rejoice" by the artist Jordan St. Cyr.

Click Here to hear this special and inspirational song.

Throughout the Christmas Season
we have several special gatherings!

Advent Sundays

Advent is the name we give to the weeks leading up to Christmas!

We take the time to prepare our hearts and our lives for the coming celebration as Jesus comes to us!
Emmanuel, Messiah, Prince of Peace... all names for Jesus, and none quite describe Him fully.
Join us as we explore the depth of this waiting.

REPENT     |      RECEIVE     |      PREPARE      |      PEACE     |       GLORIFY!

4 Special Sunday Gatherings happening both In Person at Sauble Church and Online on our Youtube Page, all Sunday gatherings begin at 10am.  Each week has a theme, a unique Message and this year, a unique musical style!

Finally, Christmas Eve finishes our Advent themes with a special 1 hour gathering, happening twice the evening of the 24th.  Happening at 6pm and again at 8pm, we hope these two identical events will fit into your evening plans.  A livestream version will be available at 6pm and replay-able any time after.

SCF Kids will also be hosting their weekly Sunday programs during our In Person Meeting.

Advent Week One: Repent

Prophets have the job of calling people to repentance as part of the Messiah's coming. Hundreds of years of history culminate in His birth. Chris Higginson will be with us teaching.

Musical style: Country/Bluegrass

Advent Week Two: Receive and Communion

Today we begin to learn what it means to receive the gift of the Messiah.  For years people questioned, prophets foretold and through the seeming silence... God is stirring.  Chris Higginson teaches again this week.

Musical style: Modern Worship

Advent Week Three: Prepare

This weekend we are called to worship.  In every season, no matter the circumstance, we want to become worshippers.  People who herald the Messiah's love.

Advent Week Four: Peace

Jesus is called the Prince of Peace... what does that mean in the context of first century Israel, and in 2022 Canada?  Dave Brotherton teaches this week.

We are also excited about some special elements for our gatherings from our SCF Kids!

Musical style: Piano led, 90's style

Christmas Eve

An annual celebration for many families.  We plan to have a 1 hour gathering, held twice this evening.  We are excited to celebrate the Messiah's birth together.

Christmas Morning!

It's here!  The day we celebrate Jesus' birth!

This year Christmas Day happens to be a Sunday morning, but we've decided to gift our volunteer teams a morning off and provide all of us an Online experience.

"Come Behold The Glorious" is intended to be an open experience for people to join in on whenever they are able to during their Christmas Day celebrations.
Going live at 7am, this video will be accessible from our Youtube Page.

Advent Devotional

Each Advent Season the Be In Christ Church of Canada gifts us a special daily devotional.  This year's version is called Oh Little Town.
Each day you'll be able to read a brief story and scripture to carry on the theme throughout the weeks leading up to Christmas.

This is a free resource and you are welcome to share with friends and family!  Many of our Sauble Church families use these readings as a family devotional at their tables.

Enjoy!
