FREE PEOPLE - WEEK 4
Welcome to FREE PEOPLERules aren't known to be famous or well liked. But in a world where Jesus leads us, rules can do more than keep you safe. They can become our allies and an opportunity to love and serve the world around us. Everyone (students, parents, leaders) need to know that the right rule can set you free. It doesn't always feel like freedom when a rule limits something you want, but what you want changes when you know who Jesus is.
THIS WEEK:This is our final week of Free People!! We close this conversation about how free people give up their freedoms for others - just like Jesus did for us!
THE BIBLE:Take some time to read these passages on your own. Think them through, journal about them, pray about them.
CONSIDER THIS:This week.. what's one way you can make a sacrifice in order to make things right with someone you've been fighting with?
THINK ABOUT IT:these are simple questions to help you continue to think this through. Use these questions in part of your journalling time, your quiet time or prayer time. However you do it, this is NOT homework.
What's the best fast food restaurant?
What's the silliest reason you've ever gotten mad at a friend? Who do you fight with most often: friends, family, authority figures? Why do you think that it is? If you had to help your friends resolve their conflicts with each other (like James did for his community) what advice would you give them? What's one way "me-centered" thinking could cause conflict with others? What are some ways we can love others by giving up some of our freedoms? Do you think there is every a time when you shouldn't give up some of your freedoms for others? When.. and why? |
